Meaning of the BMI score

Once you know your BMI score, you can use this number to determine whether you are underweight, overweight or have obesity. Below you can see how to interpret your BMI score.

Meaning of BMI score BMI score
Underweight 18,5 or less
Healthy weight 18,5 - 25
Overweight 25 - 30
Severe excess weight (obesity) 30 or more

Please note: the above interpretation of the BMI score applies to people aged 18 to 70. The BMI calculation does not provide a reliable indication for pregnant women or people with a great deal of muscle mass.
