Foot pain

Our feet have to endure a lot throughout our lives. With every step the full body weight rests on the feet. No wonder that foot pain occurs from time to time.

Anatomy of the foot

The foot is a complex composition of many bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments. There are as many as 26 bones in the foot that together form 33 joints. In addition, there are 19 muscles and tendons and no fewer than 107 different ligaments that hold the foot together. Together they ensure that we can move forward.

Symptoms
Because the foot consists of so many parts, many problems can also occur that cause foot pain. For example, a fracture can occur in one of the bones, or the big toe can grow crooked causing a hallux valgus. A trapped nerve can also cause pain in the foot.

Check your foot symptoms

Foot pain can have many causes. To investigate where the symptoms come from, the online physiotherapy check has been developed. Here you can find out what the possible cause of your foot pain is. You indicate where you have pain and then answer a number of questions about how these symptoms arose and what your limitations are. Sometimes you will also be asked to do a number of small tests.

Afterwards you will receive an overview of conditions that strongly match your symptoms. You can then read more about these and make an appointment with a physiotherapist straight away.
